AUSTIN Republican leaders in the Texas Residence signed arrest warrants for 52 Democrats who have blocked voting legislation in a standoff that stretched into its 31st day Wednesday, but it was not still apparent regardless of whether that threat would be sufficient to get lawmakers to return to the point out Capitol.
As opposed to a month ago — when lacking Democrats ended up in Washington, D.C., and outside of the jurisdiction of Texas officers — some are now keeping out from household. Texas Residence Speaker Dade Phelan, a Republican, said Democrats could be compelled to return under “warrant of arrest if necessary.”
