A Step-by-Step Body Care Routine for Beginners

Most skin and body care guides focus on your face, leaving the rest of your body out. However, your body, hair, and feet must also be cared for. Choose the right products by comparing companies using reviews, such as Bellelily reviews, or doing an internet search to find the products that have the right ingredients for your body, foot, and hair care.

Caring For our Whole Body

You might be familiar with routines to care for your face, such as cleansing, toning, moisturising, and exfoliating. These steps should be used all over your body, focussing on four key areas: face, body, hair, and feet. You can develop a routine that cares for these areas. This routine will ensure healthy and happy skin and hair, making you feel good about yourself.

Face Care

Taking care of the skin on our face has a series of steps: cleansing, toning, using a serum, moisturising, and putting sun cream during the day. This routine includes exfoliating once a week. A key point when taking care of your skin is to use the right products.

This means discovering whether your skin type is oily, dry, combination, or sensitive. Some products work specifically with each type of skin. You are looking at supporting your skin type with this routine before you put on makeup.

Body Care

Your skincare for your body is very similar to your face skincare. You should use a cleanser that supports your skin type. Looking for cleansers that contain niacinamide and ceramides is a good idea to ensure the cleanser is gentle and supports your skin.

Exfoliating your skin will remove dead skin cells and release ingrown hairs. Shaving on the same day as you exfoliate is a good idea.

Hydrating the skin daily is the next step in this routine. Moisturising after your bath or shower will help to lock in the moisture and leave your skin feeling smooth. Lotions with jojoba, olive squalane, rosehips, and citrus elements have higher levels of vitamins B, C, and E. Including sunscreen during the day is the last step for your body care routine.

Hair Care

Washing your hair in lukewarm water is the healthiest temperature for it. You should only wash your hair every other or every third day. This helps the natural oils to be produced and nurture your hair. Knowing your hair type: oily, dry, straight, curly, thin, or thick will help you choose the right product.

After you have washed it with shampoo and conditioner, you can rinse your hair, ensuring no product is left to cause irritation. Combing your hair with a wide-toothed comb instead of a brush is better. A brush tends to break and damage wet hair.

You should get your hair trimmed every three months to remove split ends. Split ends will cause more damage the longer they remain.

Foot Care

You are on your feet everyday and as such, they should be cared for with a little extra attention each day. Rubbing in a lotion daily will allow you to check for any cuts or damage that needs to be treated. Moisturising your feet will help them remain soft and healthy without cracked heels or the development of corns.

Wrapping Up

Using these four elements as the basis of your body care routine will ensure a healthy and glowing body from hair to toes.
