Gemma Collins has asked her fans for advice after revealing her dad Alan has permanent scarring in his lungs following his Covid-19 battle.
The 41 year old, who recently said she dances naked in her garden as it’s “so liberating”, took to her Instagram stories to issue the plea with her 2.2 million followers.
Sharing a snap of her dad smiling as he sat in the sun, Gemma asked her followers to get in touch if they know any tips and tricks on how to handle difficulties breathing as a result of long Covid.
“If anyone knows anything about permanent scaring from long Covid please get in touch as dad bless him has permanent scaring and was wondering if there is anthing we can do to help his breathing,” she wrote.

Gemma’s dad Alan tested positive for the virus shortly before Christmas in 2020, alongside his wife Joan.
At the time, the former TOWIE star Gemma spoke out on what had happened on her podcast as she said: “Both of my parents have had covid. My dad is still in hospital now. He’s literally been fighting for his life.
“It has been one awful time of it but I’m so happy to be back chatting with you all.”
Gemma, who recently showed off her gymnastic skills as she cartwheeled in a swimsuit on the beach, continued: “Things are so difficult. It is relentless at the moment with everything going on. I am finding myself juggling so many plates.
“It’s been a real shock to myself and my family with my dad being in hospital.”
During his battle, Alan fought for his life in hospital but he was later discharged shortly before his daughter Gemma’s 40th birthday, which fell on 31 January.

Speaking to new! magazine in April 2021, Gemma shared: “He’s got long Covid. He’s not the same man he was before he went into hospital.
“He’s very tired, he gets weak, he gets out of breath and still coughs a lot.”
She went on: “It’s really distressing, but we’re just so grateful he’s alive and hope he will come through the long Covid soon.”
Speaking about the past year, Gemma revealed it has flown by as she said: “I’ve been so busy with everything going on and my dad being in hospital with Covid, so it’s gone really quickly.”
