Kim Kardashian recycled a 10 year old dress for Kourtney’s gothic wedding

Kim Kardashian has revealed that the gothic Dolce & Gabbana dress she wore to her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s wedding to Travis Barker in Italy, last week, was actually recycled from a dress she first wore over a decade ago.

Mother of four, Kim, 41, purchased the dress herself and wore it on the red carpet at a Glamour Awards event.

The dress looked a little different back then though, first seen as a figure-hugging black strapless number, which Kim teamed with chandelier earrings and plenty of sparkly bangles.

Fast-forward eleven years, and the gown was decidedly more gothic – fitting in with the theme of Kourtney and Travis’ wedding which was sponsored by Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.

She revealed on her Instagram stories that she had layered her Dolce & Gabbana dress over a lace-gloved Verterments dress that she also had in her closet.

She also wore a chunky cross-detail choker and swept her platinum blond hair into an elegant up do’.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Kim posted a sweet snap of herself and her daughter, North, 8, posing whilst holding hands.

Over the snap, she wrote: “Fun fact about this look for the wedding! I know you guys just saw me in my archive on last week’s episode of The Kardashian! I have every piece photographed and on an app”.

She continued: “So when I knew I was going to Italy (LOVE a theme for a trip) I pulled all my Dolce & Gabbana clothes to try on again and see if I could re-wear anything!”

She then posted a snap of her in the original dress at the awards in 2011, writing: “The dress I wore to the wedding was a Dolce & Gabbana I purchased at Bergdorf Goodman in 2011 and wore it to the Glamour Awards.”

Further explaining the outfit creation, she then posted a photo of the Veterments dress, which was worn by a model.

Alongside this photo, she wrote: “But to make the dress more modern and more me, I wore this lace gloved Veterments dress I had in my closet for a layered lace look.”

On her Instagram grid, she posted a number of images of her 42 year old sister Kourtney ’s lavish wedding to her Blink-182 drummer, Travis Barker, 47, captioning the snaps: “KRAVIS FOREVER”.

Amongst the pictures were Kim and North kissing on the lips, Kim posing with her younger sister, Khloe, and another one of North and Kim posing with Dolce & Gabbana designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.

Kim included some gorgeous images of Kourtney and Travis, including a black and white snap of them walking in a tunnel, and as they said ‘I do’ at a rose-filled alter.
