A few 24-hour strikes at Community Rail and 13 practice operators are prepared on Tuesday (21 June), Thursday (23 June) and Saturday (25 June), as effectively as on London Underground on Tuesday.
“The rail and Tube strikes will impose yet another lockdown on the West Conclude at a time when central London’s financial system desires all the assistance it can get,” Ros Morgan, CEO of the Coronary heart of London Business Alliance, reported in reaction.
“From the past Tube strike, we observed a significant drop in footfall in the West Stop, which will only increase with the further rail strikes. This is a sophisticated situation and it is regrettable that the influence is in the end choking off the recovery of London and producing authentic economic hurt and we urge a resolution to be observed urgently.
“The West Conclusion depends on personnel and people becoming ready to vacation in to the centre of this global city, which these strikes will reduce. The metropolis makers, the people who the West Finish tick – cooks, waiters, shop assistants, cleaners – will wrestle to get to their work. This suggests that yet yet again, it is the West End’s businesses that will endure disproportionately, as they did during the pandemic.”
