Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has reportedly made a secret deal with a latecomer to the popular reality show to fake a relationship in order to “win”.
The Turkish actress, 27, is said to have come up with a plan to try and ensure she keeps her place in the villa until newcomer James Price enters the show in the controversial Casa Amor twist.
The Sun reports that messages allegedly from Ekin to James suggest a plot to “win” the show.
The publication suggests messages with comments such as “I’m waiting for my man” and “James don’t leave me on the island” have been exchanged between the pair.
The brunette beauty is also said to have urged him to “hurry” and “get your arse in here” in the texts, which are claimed to have been exchanged in the weeks leading up to her arrival on the show.
In other messages, James is reported to have said: “Think we could actually win it” and Ekin-Su replies: “We will baby”.
The pair are said to know each other from the Essex party scene and a friend of Ekin has shared the plan with the publication after feeling the tactics were going too far.
The source said: “Everybody knows Love Island can be a big machine for making money and becoming famous.
“Even those that really did find love also happened to make tons of money too, didn’t they?
“Ekin just wanted a piece of that.”
The source continued: “It was fine when she was just being funny and stirring up drama but it’s upsetting people now so I just felt like I had to say something.
“Plus people are voting for her without knowing this.”
The source said that Ekin was expecting James to enter the villa but The Sun reports that mutual friends have said James has had cold feet about the plan.
OK! has contacted ITV for comment.
Despite her controversial time in the villa so far, a close friend of Ekin recently told OK! that she is “genuine” but has been “messed around”.
This week has seen viewers see Ekin call Jay “the biggest player in the villa” and that he deserved an Oscar.
Her friend Arabella Ovenden has defended Ekin-Su’s actions, telling OK! they are “genuine” and that she is actually scared of being hurt.
Speaking to OK!, Arabella, 22, said: “I think it’s genuine. In London, she can never find anyone, so I think she’s just getting to know everyone and seeing which ones take to her and don’t mess her about.
“She’s been messed about by various guys, so I just think she’s keeping her guard up.”
