Galleria retains slinging new leases, but practically nothing beats the information of a new local.
Sweet Ivy, now open at the luxe Edina haunt, is the brainchild of Becky Leffer and sister shop to Sweet Nautical in Excelsior. Leffer runs her stores with her social media-savvy daughter, Abby, and daughter-in-law (and shop manager), Dana. “They balance my basic look with a bit of edge,” suggests Leffer. “We seriously perform off of every single other.”
The shop’s sweet place is casual women’s clothes and equipment at a bridge value position and with a customized, female vibe. Believe: A contact of South in the North—rattan totes, preppy knits, floral dresses and blouses, colorful sandals, and cozy loungewear sets. Leffer stocks a very similar assortment as Sweet Nautical, with some particular pieces customized to a Galleria client.
Featured brands include E Newton, Spartina 449, Leather and Linen Co., Pendleton, Southern Tide, and Barefoot Goals. “I adore introducing strains that are not commonly regarded in the North,” suggests Leffer. She’s also introduced in a tiny, curated listing of neighborhood designers including Winifred Design and style, statement jewellery items built from repurposed buttons and tags from reliable designers like Chanel, Dior, and Prada, and Gabriela Ephrem, a designer of smaller-batch, leather-based footwear with sculptural facts.
