If you’re in the market for an electric vehicle (EV), a North York mall may be a good place to visit.
Yorkdale Shopping Centre, at 3401 Dufferin St., will soon feature three EV brand showrooms.
Lucid Motors recently opened a showroom at the mall where it’s showcasing the Lucid Air model with a VR test experience and six test vehicles on site, Yorkdale said. Vinfast plans to open its Yorkdale location this summer and will also have a number of test vehicles.
The Tesla Motors showroom at Yorkdale opened 10 years ago.
“There is no other retail centre in Canada where the EV-interested or curious consumer can browse, inquire and test a wide range of EV brands in a single location,” Will Correia, Yorkdale Shopping Centre director, said in an April 5 news release.
“Automotive brands gain exposure to millions of shoppers by establishing showrooms and studios at Yorkdale, and they have the opportunity to engage with consumers in an informative and casual manner. Yorkdale enhances the experience by offering charging stations and bays for test vehicles, which support these brands throughout the customer education and sales journey.”
Yorkdale has more than a dozen EV charging stations for public use, two charging stations for Tesla to charge test vehicles, and will soon have two dedicated charging stations for the shopping centre’s three EV security vehicles, the mall said in the release.
